Lex's Mind Map of tasks.
DBR founder, Lex Berman, serves as Project Manager and lead developer of the China Historical GIS Project, based at the Harvard Center for Geographic Analysis and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Henry Luce Foundation, the Harvard Yenching Institute and the Harvard Asia Center.
Other research in recent years includes RESTful Web Service for the CHGIS historical Gazetteer, a research portal for East Asian Studies using Drupal content management system, a TimeEnabled KML Conversion Tool for browsing geographic objects as they change over time in Google Earth, semantic interoperability for feature classification systems, a network model for tracking spatio-temporal objects, and trying to hitch a blimp ride to another galaxy.
Lex dislikes automobiles, just like a lot of other people who think human society should be designed for humans instead of toxin-spewing, growling, death-rockets on wheels. He likes bicycles, science fiction art, and occasional rambles.
